Do-In Breathing Exercises - Part 1: The Breath, a Gift

At Do-In you can do different breathing exercises. These support your energy flow in different ways. Perform this exercise, The Breath a Gift, in a seated or lying position.

The Breath, a Gift:

Exhale deeply. Pause. Your stomach and chest are relaxed. When you feel that your inhalation may begin, give it plenty of space. If a clearly audible sound accompanies your inhalation, as if you are gasping for breath, shorten the following pauses: the inhalation may be silent. Continue for as long as you like.

The inhalation is also seen in the Eastern spiritual tradition as a "gift from the gods". It is a gift of life force and new energy. This breathing technique helps you to relax deeply. Perform it in meditations, or for example during breaks during the day or to end your day. The breath gives a firm massage to the hara. This strengthens your vitality and your connection with yourself.
